My favourite places in Amsterdam

I am Dutch and I can say without the slightest pride that a large part of my inspirations comes from the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular. I also have a few good places to recommend to you if you make the excellent decision to go there.

Let's start with the cultural part and the museums not to be missed. I would include the Van Gogh Museum  which traces the life of the very famous painter, the  Rijksmuseum  in fine arts and crafts in the Netherlands, or even at the Stedelijk Museumnicknamed the 'bath', for modern art.

Continue with the popular side and the inevitable cheese shops; my favorite being the Cheese Museum Amsterdamwhere you can taste before you buy. What I like about these shops are the patchworks of colours as well as the unique atmosphere.

Continue with enjoyable activities that I love, shopping! A location reference: the nine streets district. Feel free to browse the neighbourhood  to find the rare Pearl. For all other beads, visit shop  Beadies, Huidenstraat Street.

Rather than wear yourself out, take the time to take a break in one of the ten Cafés Browns scattered across the four corners of the city. You will discover a colourful and typically also charismatic clients. Let's finish with the boutique De Weldaad  and vintage inspirations, where you will find a multitude of objects. One constraint, enough room in your suitcase...  Finally, for those who have time to stay for longer than one day, I would recommend the Eden hotel  located on the Amstel River. The hotel is very well located, quite affordable and serves an excellent breakfast.
